  • Traditional Chinese Medicine

An ancient medicine based on finding balance in the body by using the theories of yin and yang, the five elements, twelve meridians, internal organs and vital substances. The body is looked at as an integrated whole, and all things are considered when developing a treatment. This includes sleep, food, environment, emotions, pain etc. Acupuncture needles are used along with cupping, moxa, and bodywork.

  • Acupuncture Physical Medicine

A style of acupuncture that treats physical pain related to the muscles and surrounding tissues. Based on Dr. Janet Travell’s trigger point therapy, palpation of muscles is used to find tight and tender points that elicit a  specific referral pattern of pain. This trigger point can be released with a small acupuncture needle, relaxing the muscle and in turn relieving the pain. Traditional acupuncture points are also used to support the treatment.

  • Kiiko Matsumoto Style

Kiiko Matsumoto studied with many Japanese masters, and is considered a living master herself. Her interpretation of classical Chinese texts allows for a new way to look at an ancient art. This style of acupuncture uses palpation of the body for instant feedback. Tiny acupuncture needles are used to elicit big results.
